Vel Pitar is an industrial-scale bakery company. It was formed in 2001-2002 through the merger of four NCH-fund owned companies with operations in baking, milling, and retail, and a subsequent restructuring of the assets by business line. Through strategic investments in research and development for new products, NCH grew Vel Pitar into one of the top branded baked goods providers in Romania, with products including various types of bread, cakes, and snack foods. From over ten production sites with state-of-the-art technology, Vel Pitar serves supermarkets, hypermarkets, and small and medium-sized shops through its distribution system across Romania.  In 2023, an NCH fund successfully sold Vel Pitar to a Mexico-based publicly listed international bakery conglomerate seeking to expand into Romania.
